Prof. Steinhoff is an established physician scientist with a long-standing background in basic and clinical research. Dr. Ron Vender is a Dermatologist who currently practices in Hamilton. He is the founder and director of Dermatrials Research Incorporated and Venderm Innovations in Psoriasis.

He has participated as principal investigator in over 100 clinical trials. He is Associate Clinical Professor at McMaster University in the Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology.

Dr. Vender serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery reviewer for the JEADV, JAAD, and BJD.

He is one of eight Canadians elected to the International Psoriasis Council, a member of the Canadian Professors of Dermatology and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis.

An eminent specialist in Dermatology, Dr. Puig Sanz has more than 30 years of experience in the profession. In recent years, Dr. Puig Sanz has concentrated on clinical research for the treatment of psoriasis with biological agents, an area in which he is a benchmark and opinion leader at a national and international level.

He combines his healthcare work with teaching, currently being an assistant professor in Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona . Wolf-Henning Boehncke earned his M.D. as a fellow of the German Scholarship Foundation in Kiel and Glasgow, and received his postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda/USA. Following assignments at the University Hospitals in Kiel and Ulm he became Full Professor and Head of the Section of Allergy/Immunology at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Main. Since 2012, he is the Chairman of the Dermatology Unit at Geneva University.

Prof. Boehncke is a board member of numerous psoriasis initiatives, including the German psoriasis registry (PsoBest©) and the network to improve psoriasis management (PsoNet©) as well as the German psoriasis patients organization. He is the current president of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) and an active member of the International Psoriasis Council (IPC).

His research focuses on the pathogenesis of inflammation on which he published landmark papers in the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, and Nature, several of these were honoured by distinguished prizes including the Galenus-von-Pergamon prize.

Dr. Giménez-Arnau is currently an associate professor of dermatology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona, and associate doctor of dermatology and venereology in the Department of Dermatology of the Hospital del Mar in the same city, where she coordinates the Section of Immunology and Cutaneous Allergy.

Dr. Gooderham is a Dermatologist and Medical Director at the SKiN Centre for Dermatology and an Investigator with Probity Medical Research. She is an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University and a Consultant Physician at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She received her MD from the University of Western Ontario in 1999, and then completed her Dermatology residency at the University of Toronto in 2004. Prior to training in medicine, Dr. Gooderham obtained a Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University in Kingston in 1992, and a Master’s of Science from the University of Guelph in 1995.

Dr. Gooderham is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, nurse practitioners and physicians both with didactic and clinical hands-on teaching. She practices with a focus on psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, skin cancer and clinical research. She also contributes to several peer-reviewed dermatology publications as an author and reviewer.

Research interests span discovery science to clinical trials. Themes: epithelial genetics, characterisation of the skin barrier; disease mechanisms & advanced therapy of atopic dermatitis, therapeutic repurposing in rare/orphan diseases. Aim: to improve lives of patients with common and rare skin disorders. Raised > €20M research funds as PI/Co-PI. Au/Co-au >300 peer reviewed papers. Discovery, with Irwin McLean, of common filaggrin mutations causing skin barrier dysfunction led to a focus on the importance of the epithelial barrier in pathogenesis of atopic and allergic diseases, which affect over 2 billion people.
